Second Trimester Checklist: Things to do once you reach your second trimester

If you have reached your second trimester (just like me) then this is what you need to read. Second trimester is when you actually start ‘feeling and looking’ pregnant. And to be honest there are things I’m liking and disliking about being pregnant. But I guess I can rant about it in some other post (good idea though!). Now that I’m at this stage of pregnancy, now that I feel the tiny bump as well, I feel that time is running too fast. There were things I wanted to do in first trimester, but given the nausea and feeling under the weather all the time, I couldn’t really get myself to do all those things. But now that the nausea is gone, not completely though, but I do have that energy level to do things. So coming back to the point, here’s second trimester checklist for us:

SECOND TRIMESTER CHECKLIST
SECOND TRIMESTER CHECKLIST

So far I’d check the following right off my second trimester checklist:

#1 Maternity Clothes

#2 Exercise/Yoga Routine

#3 Babymooning

#4 Dentist Appointment

#5 Moisturize – Ever since I started on this journey, I have taken to moisturizing every chance I get (mostly in the mornings and at nights). TBH I’m a little worried about getting stretch marks. I already have a lot on my bums and inner thighs and I’d look horrible with more on my stomach or breasts. So taking every precaution possible. But then again, sometimes it is genetic also. Oh well!

#6 Get enough nutritionThis is something that I have just recently started doing ever since I bid farewell to the constant nausea. So I make sure that I take my supplements regularly (Folic Acid and Calcium to begin with) plus fruits.

#7 Finance ManagementThis is something that my husband and I have discussed a number of times. Yes, at times managing finances could get the better of you but with proper planning and responsibilities, it is something that you can easily deal with. You just have to support each other. At least that’s what I’ve learnt from my experience.

#8 Have fun – Yes to that also! Have fun while you’re at it!

So how many of these things have you started doing already? Is there anything else you’d like to add to your second trimester checklist?

Great post! I have had 4 kids, and the second trimester is usually the easiest. I totally agree that Have Fun is perfect for your checklist for the second trimester. So important 🙂

Hi Desirae! Thanks for stopping by!
I have to say I absolutely love your website and the backdrops. To be honest, if I was into photography of any kind, I’d be one of your regular customers 😛

This list seems pretty accurate though I would also add signing up for a tour of the hospital or any classes you want to take since there is often a waiting list for those. You don’t want to miss out just because you waited too long. So glad I got my hospital tour in as they completely changed the layout of the maternity wing the week before I delivered, but they were able to show me the changes in advance and give me some hospital specific pointers.

Yes a tour of the hospital should also be one of the things on the checklist. But here in India the Obs/Gyn we go to usually has a maternity clinic/hospital. So the whole 9 months we follow up with the Obs, we get a lot of chances to talk to other moms and also get a tour whenever we want.
Good for you though that you got to see the changes beforehand. It really does help!
Also, LB is the cutest thing I’ve seen in the longest time everr! I’m mostly going to visit your website to look at LB. 😛

My second trimester was always my favorite. Morning sickness was gone, I was showing and could finally look cute in maternity clothes and we usually we able to get away and travel before our family dynamics changed again. My sister in law just announced she is pregnant so I will send her your site so she can read through your archives. Happy I came across this.

Yess! So far I’m also loving the second trimester mainly because there’s no more morning sickness. Don’t know how the third one is going to be though. A little nervous.
And thank you for stopping by! And you’re website makes me want to leave everything and JUST travel. How I’d love for a vacation right now. *sigh*

Great post! I’m in my third trimester now… well, actually I’m 3 days away from my due date LOL! But I totally agree about adding exercise/yoga to your routine. Yoga has made a huge difference for me in this pregnancy versus when I didn’t do it in my last. Good luck on the rest of your pregnancy and congrats! <3

Thanks Taylor! And congrats to you first and good luck on your date.
      I hope things go smooth.
I haven’t really started an exercise routine right now but I’m getting there. Hope it creates some difference because I’ve already started feeling the lower back pain and it’s not good. But anyway with that, I wish you good luck once again 🙂

The second trimester is definitely the most fun for me! I had a TERRIBLE first trimester, so when that passed I felt like a completely new woman! Haha!

Great tips – especially the babymooning. I went to Egypt when I was 16 weeks with my first and Cyprus at 28 weeks with my second and they were both much needed holidays! Though the second holiday was a bit more tiring having a 3 year old to run around after!
